Our monoprint assignment was to do a fantasy so I thought immediately of the Loch Ness Monster.
This looks very juvenile and the trees look dumb. But I like the monster and the water looks pretty okay.

This is probably one of my favorite pieces I've ever done and it's actually unintentional. I have a fondness for watercolor while doing monoprints. On my plate I painted a pink brain, ran it through the press (made a mess.)
It ended up turning out as an owl.

This is a picture of my boyfriend's cat Oscar, myself and him.
This is a monoprint. Meaning I painted the hair on both of the human figures and the blob for the cat head on a plexaglass plate, sprayed them a little bit with a bottle, then placed my giant sheet of paper over it so it would smoosh the paint onto the paper. I added everything after.
I won't explain the subject just because, but I love the background detail where the colors meet.
( Detail picture. )
As a small warmup practice we had to draw an axe from a book. This is probably the only real life painting I have ever done. I will do more real lifes but I don't find a lot of joy in them. I can do it, but I'd rather not.
It's more important to do art for yourself first than to please someone else with it.
This is a watercolor painting.

I also have a fond liking towards hearts. This is watercolor on a gessoed tile. It is really hard to paint on gesso with watercolor. So this is very thick paint with sea salt spinkled on. The hearts are also watercolor.
I like squids and sea animals. So here is an octopus. Watercolor. Spiderweb technique.

I have taken quite a fascination over left handedness and generally the left side of your body. It is said that being left-handed is a sign of being evil. It's quite Biblical (look it up, seriously! Amazing.) I assume I am curious about left hands because well, I am right handed.
Anyway. So obviously the left side is evil and the right side isn't.
Oh and I painted this onto my feet and it tickled. A lot.

This picture was based off a book called "Latawnya the Naughty Horse Learns to Say No to Drugs". I thought it was hilarious and wanted to recreate it.

Leg of Baby Jay in class.
I realized I haven't updated in close to six months. I've had these pictures laying around on disc so I thought I'd update. The next few updates will be progression and then will move into some newer stuff.
Here is the heart detailed. The last two as you can see, the violet one is not finished. I think it looks kind of neat that way?

The Jude Law picture met it's demise by the wind when I went to get a frame for him.

Here is my recent work. It's not complete.
I have one more canvas to do.
After it's done I'll take a picture of it completed and together. For now, here are the individual ones.
and some of them are incomplete to (they need touchups and wiped off. I used white charcoal to draw on them)
If you are interested in purchasing one.
That option is always available.
Your choice of colors too. omgzzzz. haha.

I find Jude Law to be an incredibly sexy man.
It's no wonder I did a piece about him.
This will be featured in U of M Flint's Student show in April/May?
It will be at the Greater Flint Arts Council.

You know, that song by the Four Non Blondes. I totally got that song right in two seconds on the radio this morning on my way to school. Anyway, I'm going to be posting a lot of art in the next few days because I am ~*so inspired*~.
Also, did I tell you that I have one going in a gallery in Flint?
Yeah. I'll scan it later.
